Display Fader / Encoder / Button Functions in Playback Label#113

C

It would be nice to be able to add abbreviated textual indications for each function that can be assigned to faders and encoders following the same behavior
which has flash now. For example, when I use the flash, the word flash appears in the side and top bar and temporarily overlaps the virtual indicator
of the dimmer percentage. We should add abbreviations for each selectable function.
You could think of having a box to the right of the percentage indicator where there is basically an indication of the function assigned to the endoder, for example Speed to which it is temporarily overlays the text of the function assigned to the push encoder when it is used. Same thing for the space dedicated to the fader. Below is an example of what I mean by abbreviations and also a sketch of what it might look like.

Something like:

Encoder or Fader buttons:
Disable > Space may be changed to gray
Toogle On/Off > ON-OFF
GO > GO
Pause Back > P BACK
Go to previous Cue > SKIP pCUE
Go to next Cue > SKIP nCUE
Flash > FLASH
Flash+Go > FLASH+GO
Flash+Go+Release > FLASH+GO+REL
Release > RELEASE
Tap Sync > TAP SYNC
Select Play > SEL PLBACK
Go+Release > GO+REL

Encoder or fader:
Disable > Space may be changed to gray
Dimmer > DIM
Speed > SPEED
Fading > INFADE
Manual crossfade > CROSSFADE
Effect Size > FX SIZE
Effect Speed > FX SPEED

In general: I like the idea, but font sizes will be so small text will be unreadable.

Here’s two rough examples of the text sizes. I do not think always showing the function is feasible considering the constraints we have with the UI. Displaying them when Shift is pressed may be more feasible.
